- Internal assessment is based on 5 criteria:
- Design (D)
- Data Collection and Processing (DCP)
- Conclusion and Evaluation (C+E)
- Manipulative Skills (MS)
- Personal Skills (PS)
Self Designed Experiments
- The first three criteria are each assessed twice
- They will be based on self-designed experiments
- Note: Different experiments can be used for each critera, but all aspects in the chosen criteria must be assessed from the same experiment

Practical Portfolio
- The next criteria is assessed continuously over the duration of the two years
- It will be based on your ongoing performance during practical activities that contribute to your practical scheme of work (PSOW)
- Note: Standard level students must complete 40 hours of practical work (with evidence), higher level students must complete 60 hours
Manipulative Skills
Group 4 Project
- The next criteria is assessed once
- It will be based on your performance during the Group 4 project (undertaken at the end of the first year of the course)
